Segunda muestra de miniaturas sonoras

El museo taller Ferrowhite y Bahía[in]sonora invitan a artistas argentinos y extranjeros a participar de la segunda edición de "La llamada", muestra de miniaturas sonoras a ser reproducidas en viejos teléfonos que forman parte de la colección del museo. Este año, la convocatoria hace propio el tema del Día Internacional de los Museos 2019, invitando a compositores y artistas sonoros a reflexionar a través de sus obras sobre "El futuro de la tradición". ¿De qué maneras el pasado dialoga, hoy por hoy, con el porvenir? ¿Qué nuevos dispositivos de memoria habrá en el futuro? ¿Qué nuevas tradiciones podrían surgir?

Se seleccionarán ocho miniaturas de hasta sesenta segundos de duración que serán presentadas al público en las salas de Ferrowhite entre el 18 de agosto y el 20 de octubre de 2019, utilizando para tal fin teléfonos de ENTeL, la Empresa Nacional de Telecomunicaciones, privatizada en 1990.

Se prestará especial atención a aquellas obras que a partir del eje conceptual "La llamada" exploren la relación entre pasado y presente de las telecomunicaciones, así como el cruce entre registros documentales y experimentación creativa.

La selección estará a cargo de un jurado compuesto por Raúl Minsburg, Ricardo de Armas y Nicolás Testoni coordinadores de Bahía[in]sonora.

Las postulaciones se recibirán hasta el 18 de julio de 2019. Los resultados de la convocatoria serán publicados el lunes 29 de julio del corriente año en los sitios del museo (www.museotaller.blogspot.com) y de Bahía[in]sonora (https://www.facebook.com/BahiaInSonora/). Los artistas seleccionados serán notificados por correo electrónico.

Las obras deberán ser enviadas a ferrowhite@gmail.com a través de un link de descarga de wetransfer (no otro servicio) ajustándose a las siguientes parámetros técnicos: 44.100 Hz - 16 bits - estéreo (wav o aiff). En el nombre del archivo deberán consignarse el título de la obra y su autor. Junto al archivo de sonido, deberá enviarse, además, un documento de texto en formato docx o pdf en el que constarán el nombre de la obra, el nombre de su autor, el año de su realización, un correo electrónico de contacto, una breve sinopsis sobre la obra y una breve referencia biográfica del compositor.

Second exhibition of sound art miniatures

Ferrowhite workshop museum and Bahía[in]sonora invite Argentine and foreign artists to participate in "The phone call", second exhibition of sound art miniatures to be reproduced through old telephones belonging to the museum's collection. This year, the call for submissions assumes the topic of International Museum Day 2019, inviting composers and sound artists to reflect through their work upon “The Future of Tradition”. How does the past establish a dialogue, today, with what is to come? Which new memory devices, in the wide sense of the word, will exist in the future? Which new traditions might come up?

Eight miniatures, up to sixty seconds long, will be selected and presented to the audience in Ferrowhite museum’s showrooms between August 18th and October 20th, 2019, using old ENTel phones, Argentina’s National Telecommunication Company, which was privatized in 1990.

Special attention will be paid to those works that explore the relationship between the past and the present of telecommunications, as well as the crossover between documentary records and creative experimentation, based on the conceptual axis of "The phone call".

A jury integrated by Nicolás Testoni, Raúl Minsburg and Ricardo de Armas, general coordinators of Bahía[in]sonora, will carry out the selection process.

Applications will be received until Friday July 18th, 2019. The results of the call will be published on Monday July 29th of the current year in the sites of the museum and the festival. Selected artists will be notified by email.

The works must be sent to ferrowhite@gmail.com through a wetransfer downloadable link (not another transfer system) according to the following technical parameters: 44.100 Hz - 16 bits - stereo (wav or aiff).

The name of the file should also include the title of the work and its author.

In addition to the sound file, a text document in docx or pdf format must also be sent, including the name of the work, the name of the author, the year of its creation, a contact email, a brief comment on the work and a short biographical reference of the composer.
